The First Annual

International NeuroCoaching Conference

October 6 and 7, 2018
Los Angeles, California

Recommended Study Materials

Hi, Mark Waldman here:

I am delighted that you will be attending our first international conference where beginning students, Certified NeuroCoaches, and a select group of guests will gather to learn new educational and coaching skills that are grounded in brain-based, evidence-based, and mindfulness-based communication strategies.

The majority of attendees have varying degrees of experience in the practice of these intuitive techniques, but the experiential material we will be covering is brand new. If you glance at the agenda at the bottom of this page, you’ll see that we will begin the formal workshop on Saturday morning with “group transformational experience” where I will be guiding everyone into a unique mindful dialog called “Compassionate Communication.”

Although I have written extensively about this strategy in my book Words Can Change Your Brain (Newberg & Waldman), and have demonstrated the power of this process in a number of training videos and documentary films, there is no way to fully appreciate the power of this communication game that I teach to university students and corporations throughout the world. You’ll get a chance to experience its transformational power by remaining in this contemplative conversation for the majority of the weekend. It’s like being on a meditation retreat where we can all savor the words we speak and hear.

In this state, you’ll speak with greater clarity and listen more deeply, using your intuition – not your everyday mental chatter – to explore ways to solve problems quickly and to enhance your personal and professional development.

You’ll also get to experience a new strategy for reducing physical pain and to brainstorm about ways to improve this highly experimental protocol.

In addition, I will introduce you to an insight meditation experience I call “Streaming” where you allow your imagination to wander, free associate, and tap into deeper layers of self-discovery that is difficult to do without a partner.

The workshop will also include “hot-seat” demonstrations that demonstrate the effectiveness of 5-10 minute NeuroCoaching sessions, and we’ll also have several panel discussions on the marketing of these unique NeuroCoaching strategies. For those of you who are coaches and educators, or who are considering being involved in my certification program, these discussions will help you to map out new directions in your career.

Here’s what I recommend to prepare yourself for this experiential weekend:

Download and Read these chapters excerpted from Words Can Change Your Brain, by Mark Robert Waldman and Andrew Newberg M.D.

(or order the entire book on Amazon)

Download Chapters Here

Purchase a copy of NeuroWisdom: The New Brain Science of Money, Happiness, and Success (Waldman & Manning)

Read Chapters 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, and 11.

And yes, I’m happy to sign it at the conference!

Download and Listen to the Compassionate Communication Audios below.

Familiarize yourself with the techniques, as we will be using enhanced versions of them throughout the weekend. Try practicing Track 7 – Guided Dialogue Training – with another person.

Watch this video documenting a Compassionate Communication workshop

In this video you will see how I guide a general public audience through the relaxation, mindfulness, and NeuroWisdom exercises that are central to NeuroCoaching and the ways I teach stress reduction and enhanced communication to executive MBA students. At 37 minutes into the presentation, I introduce the audience to the 8 core elements of communication, something that is not covered in my books, and at 60 minutes you’ll see how I use the video “Power of Words” to prepare an audience for the Compassionate Communication exercise.  1200 people will then pair off and you’ll see how I guide them through this unique dialog process that you’ll be experiencing at our workshop:

Watch this brief webinar I created for my Facebook communities

In the Compassionate Communication workshops I give to the general public, and to my Executive MBA students at LMU, I show the trailer from Disney’s Zootopia to introduce them to the dialog meditation exercise. I won’t be using slides or videos at the October conference, but when I teach you how to speak like a sloth, you’ll understand how quickly it will interrupt the poor habitual ways in which we usually speak:

Finally – this is recommended, not compulsory:

You can gain a deeper understanding of the “Mindfulness 3.0” strategies we use in our coaching and teaching, along with 58 experiential exercises for developing positivity and undermining negative rumination. Here’s a 25% discount coupon you can use. You can order this digital course using the coupon nw25off on this page HERE

See you all in October!

Mindfully Yours,

Mark
